Lonna J. Carter, MPH
Lonna Carter is an innovative and experienced business lawyer who represents clients in a range of industries and legal matters. Lonna’s practice is focused on representing corporations, entrepreneurs, start-ups, and private clients in a broad range of business, regulatory, and litigation matters. She has a passion for working with founders of start-up and emerging companies and venture capital firms on issues critical to the success of growing business and organizations.
Her past experience includes serving as in-house counsel to a health care, medical device, and insurance/reinsurance/surety companies providing legal guidance on complex litigation, government investigations, employment matters, intellectual property, insurance coverage disputes, M&A, and commercial contracts. Lonna has extensive litigation experience representing corporate defendants in product liability and toxic tort (including lead, asbestos and mold) litigation and associated government investigations. Lonna also has extensive experience working with artists and celebrities on legal issues ranging from contract negotiation, licensing, branding, and other novel legal matters associated with traditional and emerging media.
In addition to her legal practice, Lonna is actively involved in professional organizations focused on supporting the advancement of women in business and expanding the visibility and impact of women in the corporate world.
Lonna is a graduate of Northeastern University School of Law and holds a master’s degree in public health from Tufts University School of Medicine. She has also worked in various capacities on health and wellness projects at the local and national level.
Lonna is admitted to practice law in Massachusetts and the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts.
